Our
Story
Why Project Mitahy
An initiative of a Malagasy Canadian who grew up in Madagascar and moved to Canada in my teenage years. Spent 11 years there, living a comfortable life, all the while longing for more for my home country, and decided to come back.
In coming back, I noticed how many NGOs exist, and yet, how many people are still in need of basic necessities. I also realized that we don't always need to rely on large organizations to do things. In fact, there are a plethora of small things that could be done that do not require board approvals and bureaucracies, or even million dollar cheques. Instead, just requires people who have the means, who care enough, and who want to give back.
Above all, Project Mitahy is an initiative led by gratitude and the desire to share that feeling, and simply because we can.
Our
Mission
The mission is to provide support whenever we can, wherever we can, and however we can in a meaningful way and foster gratitude.
We envision a world that longer feels the need to wait on large organizations to take action, but instead feel the power that they, too, hold when it comes to landing a hand, regardless of where they are or how much they have.
